On 26 August 2025, United Nations Resident Coordinator Joe Colombano paid a courtesy call on Mr. Alue Dohong, the Assistant Director-General and Regional Representative for Asia and the Pacific of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The RC briefed ADG Dohong on the work of the UNCT in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and updated him on the prospects for the return of the UNCT to Pyongyang. The RC also thanked FAO for its support to the work of his office, including on the occasion of the recent visit of an official delegation from the Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Pyongyang to join FAO’s capacity building and training program on the theme “Strengthening Digital Agriculture Ecosystem and Developing E-Agriculture Solutions.” The RC underscored the importance to such direct exchanges to the partnership between the DPRK and the UN and gave his full availability to join more such events in the future.
